A Registered Nurse and popular Activist, Olamide Thomas has alerted the public of an alleged grand plan by certain top officers within the Nigeria Police Force to eliminate her.
Thomas, who was a key figure in the #EndBadGovernance movement raised alarm that she has been receiving persistent strange telephone calls from persons claiming to be top police officers summoning her to appear for interrogation at the police station.
Thomas, who also played key role in the #EndSARS saga of 2020, is suspecting that her trauma presently is linked to a viral video which exposed a Member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Tunji Akinosi who had sometimes last year physically assaulted her on the streets of Lagos.
In a press statement circulated to newsmen in Abeokuta on Thursday, Thomas said: “It has become not only necessary but important for me to raise alarm especially when considering what I have been going through since the past few weeks.
“A top police officer at the Force Headquarters (name withheld) has been setting people after me to threaten me on telephone.
“He has also been working in connivance with a House of Representatives member representing Ado Odo Ota Constituency, Ogun State, Hon. Tunji Akinosi who physically assaulted me last year on Workers Day on May I, 2023.
“It is not my fault that the video resurfaced again and it will continue to resurface any time the need arises for the case to be revisited.
“It is already public knowledge that Mr Tunji Akinosi assaulted me for defending a street hawker who had altercations with his driver and after some days when the case was reported in the media, his boys started threatening me when I went to Ogun State.
“So, I reported the case at Ogun State Police Command but the politician was not invited till date because of his perceived influence and interference in the case by an Abuja based senior police officer.
“And now that the case has resurfaced, some people are being sent after me including police officers to threaten me for summons for interrogation via the telephone and not any official letter!
“My Organization (Take it Back Movement) and well meaning Nigerians should please come to my aid”.
It would be recalled that Nurse Olamide Thomas has been in public limelight in the past five years as a diehard Nigerian patriot who is into advocacy to end quackery in Nursing to enhance safety in the healthcare of Nigerians.
