Associate Professor Kayode Ogunjobi has been investitured a Fellow of the Forestry Association of Nigeria (FAN).
The Fellow which is the most prestigious honour of the Association was conferred on him at the just concluded 46th Annual Conference of the association held at Osun State.
With the honour, he has joined the league of other eminent members of the association across the country and beyond as Distinguished Fellow of the Association.
Associate Professor Kayode Ogunjobi served as the Vice- Chairman of the Ogun State Chapter of Forestry Association of Nigeria and later as Chairman a few years ago, raising the bar of excellence of the noble association.
Born on 27th August, 1974, Ogunjobi, an indigene of Ifo, Ogun State, attended St Thomas Primary School, Agbowo U.I., Ibadan before proceeding to Immanuel College High School, Orita, U.I., Ibadan where he served meritoriously as the Editor-in-Chief of the School’s Press Club.
His voyage into the world of forestry started at the Federal College of Forestry, Ibadan where he obtained a National Diploma in Forestry Technology in 1996.
While at the College, he served as the Vice President of the Students’ Union Government and later as the Acting President.
He bagged his first degree in Forestry and Wildlife Management, a Master’s degree in Environmental Management and Protection, and PhD in Wood Science from the prestigious University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, in 2000, 2007, and 2010, respectively.
He earned an outstanding reputation as the President of the Students Union of the University of Agriculture, Abeokuta in 1999/2000.
He was the Secretary of UNAAB Alumni, Abeokuta Branch and later became the Vice-Chairman. He also served as the National Secretary of the UNAAB Alumni and Secretary ASUU-UNAAB.
He taught various courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels at the Department of Forestry and Wildlife Management of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta and has supervised at least 65 undergraduate students, four Master’s students, and three PhD students.
He was the Examination Officer for the Department of Forestry and Wildlife Management as well as the Departmental Coordinator of Part-Time Degree programme among several other roles.
As Chairman of Forestry Association of Nigeria in Ogun State, his tenure witnessed a remarkable turnaround and raised the bar of excellence in the affairs of the Association. He exhibited good working relationships with members, relevant agencies and bodies and has continued to lend his voice towards the protection of the forests and the environment.
He is a man of diverse attributes. He is a public analyst whose opinion on various social media platforms, radio and television programmes contributes to shaping thought patterns. He is also a prolific writer, publisher and preacher.
Associate Professor Kayode Ogunjobi is a member of many professional bodies among which are; Life Member, Forestry Association of Nigeria, Associate Member, Institute of Chartered Foresters, UK and Member, Society for Wood Science and Technology (USA).
He is unrepentantly persuaded that he is in this world to make meaningful impacts on the development of humanity and to give pleasure to God. This persuasion constantly drives his lifestyle and affects and informs his thought patterns, decision-making process and relationship with people.
Ogunjobi is happily married to Mrs Olayinka Ogunjobi and they are blessed with three (3) wonderful children of God
