Needs N40m For Treatment Overseas
Okiki Olaleye, an Ibadan-based young graduate of Federal College of Education, Osiele, Abeokuta lived a good life without a single scratch in any part of his body up till eight months ago.
His handsome frame shows in his photograph attached to this story.
Life’s unexpected turn however showed up in his life sometimes in April, 2024 when he noticed two tiny growths around his upper neck region.
And, between a span of eight months, a princely N6million has been consumed by this strange growth diagnosed as Cancer Neurofibrosarcoma, which is a rare malignant tumour affecting the peripheral nerves.
After undergoing several laboratory tests running into over N2m, a major surgery worth another N2m at the University College Hospital, Ibadan(UCH), was expended on the main surgery carried out around September last year.
Sadly, exactly one month after the operation, the tumour re-occurred and this time, growing in alarming speed and spread. This has been causing unimaginable pains to the young man ever since.
And from UCH, his parents got referred to Lagos University Teaching Hospital(LUTH) where close to another N2m have been spent on further tests and laboratory examinations as well as post-surgery.
Having got to their wits end, the family of Mr and Mrs Samson Olaleye is crying out for help from good-spirited Nigerians. Both parents are already retired from their work.
Hear them: “Right now, we have been advised to fly our son, Okiki, to advanced Oncology Centres in India for better treatment. We need a minimum of N40m for this.
“We have sold some of our property. By we haven’t been able to raise any reasonable amount. There’s no where to run to and we have no other choice than to start this crowdfunding for our amazing son. Okiki is a promising child with bright future. He studied French Sociology and was at the verge of securing an appointment when the sickness started.”
