Sunday May 5, 2024 would ever remain unforgettable in the annals of services ever held at the Celestial Church of Christ, Ibara Cathedral in Abeokuta when prominent businessman and an elder statesman, Asst. Venerable Superior Evangelist Joseph Oluranti Ogunremi was installed as Baba Ijọ of the expansive church.
Characterized by an atmosphere of melodious music backed by a powerful sermon delivered by Most Superior Evangelist JD Nunayon, the expansive auditorium was filled with several hundreds of church enthusiasts and prominent personalities who thronged to grace the event.
Mid-way into the service, the electrifying moment was when erstwhile Governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, in a resplendent white agbada lace, entered into the auditorium which was already filled with important dignitaries.
Among the notables were former Secretary to the Ogun State Government and immediate past Nigeria’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Alhaji Tunji Sarafa Isola, former People’s Democratic Party chairman in the state, Chief Joju Fadairo, Chief Mrs Iyabo Apampa, the Osile of Oke-Ona, Oba Dr Adedapo Tejuoso and Apostle Olusesi Obateye, International Coordinator of Priesthood Leadership Development Initiative Inc, among several others.
With Otunba Daniel’s entry, the mass choir of the church erupted in that song that heralded victory for Daniel’s ascension into governance… _“E so fáráyé pe Daniel nbọ oooo, ẹyin ọmọ Ogun, e damure yin giri”
Earlier, Most Superior Evangelist J.D Nunayon gave a homily, the plank of which focused on individual responsibilities to God’s assignment and the importance of fulfilling duties to achieve the primary objective of serving God on earth.
In an atmosphere filled with excitement and joy, the entire congregation erupted in cheers as the name of A/V/S/E Joseph Oluranti Ogunremi was announced for official recognition.
The Doyen of CCC Worldwide, Most Superior Evangelist Samuel Olutunde Banjo eloquently compared A/V/S/E Joseph Oluranti Ogunremi’s journey to that of Moses in the Scriptures.
Banjo passionately affirmed that the newly installed Baba Ijo was chosen by God to lead the Parish for years to come.
He fervently prayed for God to continue guiding Pa Ogunremi in his unwavering commitment to the Parish, as he always advocated for the best interests of CCC Ibara Cathedral Abekouta in every aspect.
