The Police top hierarchy in Lagos State has been thrown into a puzzle over the sad end of Deputy Commissioner of Police, Gbolahan Olugbemi whose lifeless body was found hanging in his private home in Ogbomoso, Oyo State on Tuesday morning.
The deceased top police boss reportedly committed suicide aftermath of the just-concluded Easter festivities.
The late DCP Olugbemi was until his death, in charge of Special Investigation at the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, Lagos.
The deceased, who once served as an aide de camp of the late former Governor Adebayo Alao-Akala of Oyo State, was said to have returned home for Easter when he took his life, according to reports.
His corpse was discovered in the house located in the Federal Low-cost housing area in Ogbomoso on Monday afternoon, although it is still unknown who found the body.
The police, reports say, have already cordoned off the area, although groups of supporters were seen, whispering about the situation.
It was learnt that the late Officer was in Ogbomoso for the Easter celebration last weekend from Lagos State before the incident.
“He came with his aides and we heard that he discharged them to go and celebrate Easter with their respective families only to hear that he committed suicide on Monday)”, a source said.
Several calls made to the Oyo State Police Police Public Relations Officer, Adewale Osifeso, in an effort to seek official confirmation was not picked.
