All is set for the 93rd Inaugural Lecture of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) with Prof. Omotola Abiola Jayeola, an expert in Wildlife Ecology and Biodiversity Conservation, on the podium as the Inaugural Lecturer.
The lecture will hold on Wednesday, August 21, 2024 at the Oluwafemi Balogun Ceremonial Building by 2pm.
The Lecture, titled “The Tragedy of Consumption and Conservation: A Paradox of Community Emancipation,” promises to be interesting, revealing and exciting as Prof. Jayeola is expected to bring his overwhelming native intelligence laced with outstanding scientific information to bare in unraveling the tragedy and proferring sustainable solutions towards promoting conservation and enhancing livelihood.
Prof Jayeola is of the Department of Forestry and Wildlife Management, College of Environmental Resources Management (COLERM) and proudly an alumnus of the University. He is as well a former Director of FUNAAB Zoo Park.
The Lecture would present strategies for navigating this paradox, highlighting pathways to a more equitable and environmentally conscious future.
The Institution’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, will preside over the ceremony in his capacity as the Chief Host.
Prof. Jayeola will expectedly delve into the conflicting demands of individual consumption and collective conservation efforts, exploring how communities could balance these needs to achieve both emancipation and sustainability.
The Lecture, in addition, will present strategies for navigating this paradox, highlighting pathways to a more equitable and environmentally conscious future.
