Reflecting on the journey of his life in the past 60 years on earth, the General Overseer, Victory Life Bible Church, Apostle Lawrence Achudume, who has been on a week-long celebration mood, has recounted what the Oracle told his mother at his birth.
The Oracle, in his ancestral home, Umubu Amai Community, Ukwuani Local Government in Delta State, gave a divination that the little baby just delivered, will not follow their tradition in the community.
What the Oracle saw, according to stories told him by his mother, was that the little baby when he grows up would serve “the white man’s God”.
This came to light while Apostle Achudume was delivering the vote of thanks in appreciation of guests who graced an elaborate 60th birthday event held at the Victory City, Abeokuta location of VLBC headquarters.
Hear Apostle Achudume: “I am a man helped by God. I know where I am coming from. I know where I would have been and I know where God has taken me. What would I say, but that God has helped me, that is the summary of my life.
“One thing I can remember vividly is the story my mother told me that the oracle had told my great grand mother that the man (Lawrence Achudume) will not serve the God that they serve but will serve the white man’s God(Christianity) and it began to work out from there. There were challenges on the way until we get to where we are now.”
The event witnessed the launch of a biography on Apostle Achudume entitled “The man helped by God” .
The coterie of dignitaries at the event included a former Governor of Akwa- ibom State, Chief Udom Emmanuel, wife of Ogun State Governor, Mrs Bamidele Abiodun, immediate past Nigeria’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Ambassador Sarafa Tunji Isola, Former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Dimeji Bankole, Pastor Tunde Bakare, Pastor Femi Emmanuel and several others.
Leading the pack of eminent monarchs was the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo, and others including the Osile of Oke-Ona Ẹgba, Oba Dr Adedapo Tejuoso, the Olowu of Owu Kingdom, Oba Prof. Saka Matemilola and a host of others.
Apostle Achudume was also honoured by a retinue of God’s Generals who were physically present at the event among whom were ArchBishop, Vineyard Christian Ministries The Glorious Church, John Osa-Oni, Bishop of the African Church, Solution Ground, Jeremiah Tunji Okunlola , Bishop and Reverend Mrs Felix Adejumo, Lead Pastor Rock Foundation Church , Reverend Tunde Amosun, Bishop Oladepo Ogunsola, who stood in for the President, Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, Bishop Wale Oke, Bishop Jide Ayangbesan, Bishop Kayode Okulaja, Bishop Christian Akano, Reverend Paul Aude, ArchBishop Ojo, and Rev Dr.Kunle Adesina.
Others were Pastor Dele Osunmakinde, Deputy National President, Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, Arch-Bishop Joy Prince, Pastor Seye Senfuye of Treasure House of God, Chairman Christian Association of Nigeria, Ogun State, Apostle Israel Oyelana, Reverend Mrs Stephen Olalekan of Rehoboth Assembly and Prof and Prof Mrs Sam Oluwalana.
