Thursday 9th January, 2025 would forever remain unforgettable in the annals of Owu Kingdom when several hundreds of individuals comprising the young-at-heart within the community converged to witness the inauguration of Comrade Olawale Peter Olajumoke as the pioneer President of Owu Youth Forum.

Notable among dignitaries who graced the occasion hosted by the Olowu of Owu Kingdom, Oba Prof Saka Matemilola were the Balogun of Owu and former Nigeria’s President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, accompanied by her daughter, Mrs Iyabo Obasanjo-Bello, Oba M.A. Ola Yusuf and the Oga Nla of Owu, Hon. Chief Olu Fatoki among others.
In the recent times, the Owu monarch, Oba Matemilola has been forging unity within the kingdom in an unprecedented way and rallying together the diverse groups in such a way to foist a new wave of development and progress for the community.

Moments after the oath of office was conducted for Comrade Olajumoke with his team of Excos, the crowd which gathered at the Oke-Ago Owu Palace bursted into tumultuous joy and frenzy.
In his charge to the new exco, Oba Matemilola ascribed all glory to the God Almighty for the success of the event and conveyed appreciation to all leaders and members of the kingdom for rallying round the youths.
The monarch expressed confidence in the youths and acknowledged that they have capability to handle the process without his interference and called on them for re-dedication and commitment to the cause of Owu land.

Oba Matemilola said the executives can not be congratulated yet, because the tasks ahead is huge and called for team work and collective contributions to move the kingdom forward.
He commended the youths for the legacy projects already embarked upon, pointing out that they are already setting the pace right for future generations.
In his address at the occasion, the President, Owu Youth Forum, Hon. Olawale Olajumoke was full of joy that the royal father and in particular former President Olusegun Obasanjo led other eminent personalities to grace the event which to him underscored the pride of place accorded to youths in Owu Kingdom.

While pledging to make Owu greater in tangible ways, Hon. Olajumoke called for unity amongst the people and appealed to them to shun divisive tendencies and assured that the dividends of his administration would be visible to all within the next one year.
