All roads lead to Okitipupa, Ondo State Capital on Friday July 19, 2024 as the remains of elderstatesman and renowned educationist, Rev. Joseph Akinyode Omobuwajo will be interred amidst pomp and pageantry.
A nonagenarian, Pa Omobuwajo who died at a ripe old age of 97, having been born in 1927, transited to glory on March 12, 2024.
Burial service holds on Friday at the Methodist Church Cathedral, Okitipupa beginning from 10am, with interment following shortly after.
Earlier on Thursday 18th July at his residence located in No. 2, Erinje Road, Okitipupa at 5pm.
In his life time, he was a renowned teacher of teachers, having taught in several schools which included, L.A. Primary School, Ode-Irele, Igbobi College, Lagos, Divisional Teachers’ Training College, Ode-Aye and Methodist High School, Okitipupa.
Pa Joseph Akinyode Omobuwajo was the last born of three elder brothers and three elder sisters in Akotogbo aboriginal home of the Ikale clan and belong to the Ajagbale Quarters of Idepe-Okitipupa.
He is survived by many children and grandchildren.
