The State of Georgia in the United States of America is fast becoming an exciting haven for prominent Nigerians who are doing significant exploits in their chosen fields of endeavour.
In 2024, the popular Nigerian Singer, David Adeleke, a.k.a. Davido was the cynosure of all eyes when the Government of the State of Georgia honoured him with the Outstanding Georgia Citizens Status.
However, for the annual 2025 award event, a Nigerian-born medical practitioner residing in the US, Dr Olufunso Ayodeji Ojo, MD was honoured with the Outstanding Georgia Citizen Status at a well attended state function held in celebration of International Day at the Capitol.
Dr Ojo’s award was presented to him by Brad Raffenspergger, who is the Secretary of State in the American enclave.
Dr Ojo hails from Ijero-Ekiti, Ekiti State. He is a distinguished physician specializing in Internal Medicine.
What earned him widespread recognition is his acclaimed dedication to the health and wellbeing of his patients, with a 4.5 rating of his compassionate care.
Dr Ojo is also said to have demonstrated an unwavering commitment to excellence in the field of medicine, providing exceptional medical care to countless individuals in the State of Georgia and beyond, and serving as a beacon of hope and healing for his patients.
As reeled out by the Secretary of State, Brad Raffenspergger, “Dr Ojo’s expertise in Internal medicine, coupled with his empathetic approach to patient care, has set a standard of excellence in the medical community, inspiring both his colleagues and future generations of healthcare professionals”
According to him, Dr. Ojo’s contributions extend beyond the walls of his practice, as he actively engages in community outreach and health education, striving to improve the overall health and quality of life for all Georgians.
“He is not only a renowned physician but also a philanthropist of international repute, whose generous contributions and humanitarian efforts have uplifted communities locally, nationally, and globally, addressing critical needs in healthcare, education, and social development”, he stressed.
Therefore, he further said, Dr. Ojo’s outstanding achievements and dedication to his profession and philanthropic endeavors have brought great pride to the State of Georgia, and his work serves as a testament to the power of compassion, skill, and perseverance in the field of medicine and beyond”.
