The advancement of digital innovation in Ogun State is set to receive another major spotlight as the Nigeria Computer Society (NCS), Ogun State Chapter, prepares to host the Ogun Information Technology Merit Award (OGITMA) 2025. The event, scheduled for Thursday, 11th December 2025, will take place at Spices Events Hall, Oke-Ilewo, Abeokuta by 3:00pm.
This year’s ceremony is themed “Harnessing Digital Innovation for Sustainable Development,” reflecting the increasing role of technology in shaping governance, education, entrepreneurship, and public service delivery in the state.
One of the highlights of the upcoming event is the confirmation of Engr. Dr. Lateef Yusuf, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure, Ogun State, as the Guest Speaker. Dr. Yusuf, a respected technocrat with a PhD in Computer Science and a member of the Nigeria Computer Society, is expected to deliver insights on the relevance of digital transformation in building sustainable systems and infrastructure. His participation underscores the state government’s commitment to technological advancement and capacity-building.

The organizers also announced a strong lineup of dignitaries expected at the awards ceremony. Among them are Dr. Muhammed Sirajo, FNCS, President of the Nigeria Computer Society; Senator Shuaib Afolabi Salisu, FNCS, Chairman, Senate Committee on ICT and CyberSecurity, Mr. Olaolu Olabimtan, Ogun State Commissioner for Budget and Planning; and Professor Abayomi Arigbabu, Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology.
Other high-profile attendees include Sir Olujare Oyesola, KJW, CEO of JAROY; Professor Olusola B. Kehinde, Vice-Chancellor of FUNAAB; and Professor Oyedunni S. Arulogun, Vice-Chancellor of Chrisland University.
Also expected are technology leaders such as Mr. Femi Williams, Founder of Konn3ct Solutions; Dr. Ademola Adenubi, Founder and CEO of Edutams; Mr. Michael Olubunmi Idowu, former Director of Treasury, Ogun State Office of the Accountant General; Mr. Olalekan Adeeko, Co-Founder of TedPrime Hub and Microsoft MVP; and the CEOs of iWorld Networks Limited an Cybervilla among others .
OGITMA 2025 will feature nine distinct award categories designed to celebrate excellence in various aspects of the technology ecosystem. These include IT Legend of the Year, IT Ambassador of the Year, IT Solution Enabler of the Year, Special Recognition Award, Most Distinguished Member, IT Personality of the Year, IT Company of the Year, Internet Service Provider of the Year, and IT Hub of the Year.
According to the NCS Ogun Chapter, the awards recognize individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to digital development within the state. The ceremony will also serve as a platform for networking, collaboration, and strategic discussions among stakeholders in the ICT sector.
The association emphasized that registration is mandatory for all intending attendees, as only registered participants will be guaranteed entry.
OGITMA has grown to become Ogun State’s foremost IT recognition platform, promoting innovation, professionalism, and technological excellence. The event reflects the state’s deepening commitment to nurturing digital talent and encouraging ICT-driven solutions across education, governance, business, and social development.
The Nigeria Computer Society’s Ogun State Chapter reaffirmed its dedication to supporting ICT growth through advocacy, capacity-building initiatives, and community engagement, noting that the 2025 edition of OGITMA promises to be one of the most impactful yet.
The newly elected executives of the Society will also be inaugurated to steer the ship for the next two years.
