At last the ultra-modern Adire Training Facility being promoted by ASANI and ADUKE Foundation is set for commissioning via a three-day event kick-starting on Wednesday July 17 to Friday July 19, 2024.
Venue is the Facility Centre located at House B1/27, Olomore Housing Estate, Abeokuta, the Ogun State Capital.
The Centre is the brainchild of Mrs Lizzy Adeboyejo, the Chief Executive Officer, Asani and Aduke Foundation.
The commissioning event commences from 11:30am each day.
The event which parades exhibition, demonstrations, cultural performance, would be attended by royal personages, prominent personalities and top functionaries of government.
The Facility Centre will in particular promote Youths and women empowerment, skills acquisition, capacity building and business mentoring.
More specifically, the Centre will provide training ground for Adire Value Addition crafts and production of Adire Fabrics.
Also located in the Centre are an Adire Gallery, a mini Textile Museum, Adire Research Cubicle and a recreation centre.
Mrs Adeboyejo, speaking during an interview, expressed determination to take Adire production and utilizing Nigerian local fabrics to another level in such a way as to make it a forex earner for local entrepreneurs.
