A registered Dietitian, Entrepreneur, Author and Chief Executive Officer of the popular outfit, Next Big Deal Hub, Bukola Jaiyeola has bagged a doctoral honour in far away United Kingdom.
The occasion was this year’s annual edition of Leadership Empowerment International Conference (LEIC) which held over the weekend in London.
LEIC is the platform for the Doctor of Leadership (Honoris Causa) award conferred by a South Africa-based institution, Immanuel Theology Institute International in conjunction with Priesthood Leadership Development Initiative Inc founded by Prof Olusesi Obateye.
The award is in recognition of her remarkable giant strides in entrepreneurial development and her sterling contributions to the society.
Three other distinguished Nigerians resident in the UK were also conferred doctoral award in Leadership at the three-day conference among whom are a medical practitioner of four decades experience, Dr David Lai Soile and Chief Michael Ogunseye, a prominent Accountant, Mental Health Nurse and Founder, Save Lives International Outreach.
Speaking during the ceremony, the Chancellor of the South Africa–based institution, Prof Van Den Berg spoke extensively on the theme of the conference “Responsible and Responsive Leadership”
Prof Edward Alfred underscored the critical role of leadership in addressing the needs of those they guide and mentor.
The keynote speaker, Elder David Ibiobamimo emphasized that true leadership is about meeting the needs of people and providing effective solutions.
He highlighted that a leader must possess the wisdom to recognize the value of every individual within an organization, from the least to the highest in the hierarchy.
While pointing out that leadership is fundamentally about intervention,
Ibiobamimo said leaders are called to address and resolve prevailing circumstances, challenges, and problems.
By acting as solution makers, leaders, he further submitted, must have the foresight to create a lasting, transgenerational impact.
The keynote speaker introduced the acronym, CAP, which defines the characteristics of a genuine leader in which C stands for Credibility, A – Authenticity and P for Productivity.
The issue of leadership, it would be recalled, resonated two weeks ago at the LEIC NIGERIA CONFERENCE where former President Olusegun Obasanjo pointedly tasked Nigerians to root out of office all Self-Centered Leaders occupying various political positions in Nigeria.
Obasanjo, who was the Special Guest of Honour at that Conference, was later appointed Global Patron of the organization.
