A prominent medical practitioner and an illustrious son of Ikale land, Dr Samuel Oladipo Akinbolade Ogunsanmi, will be buried in Okitipupa, Ondo State on Saturday February, 2026.
Dr Ogunsanmi, a medical professional of the old order, was one of the pioneering set of 28 students of the College of Medicine, University of Lagos in September 1962, graduating in June 1967.

He had initially started out as a Pediatrician and later general medicine before he became an expert in Dermatology after undergoing a course in Michigan and several other institutions in Chicago, Colorado, New York and Washington DC in United States of America.
According to a statement by the eldest child of the deceased, Barrister Moyin Adebayo, all roads lead to Okitipupa, Ondo State, where the funeral events will take place.
The ceremonies begin on Monday 2nd February, 2026 with a Service of Songs at his residence, 5, Community Close, PPL Bus Stop, Okokomaiko, Lagos.

The journey proceeds to Idepe, Okitipupa on Friday 6th February where a Christian Wake Keep holds at his residence, Maternity Street, Idepe.
Saturday 7th February is the d-day for the final funeral event where the remains of Dr Ogunsanmi is to be interred after a service at the Methodist Church, Idepe.
Entertainment of guests follows immediately at the Idepe Town Hall, opposite Methodist Church Cathedral, Okitipupa.
After his further training in the USA, the deceased returned to Nigeria and lectured at the College of Medicine, UNILAG. In 1978, he established his private hospital, Akinbolade Specialist Hospital at Orile Iganmu and also Okokomaiko, Lagos.
The late Dr Ogunsanmi was married in 1962 to his wife, former Miss Dorcas Olabampe Enigbokan whom he had described as “My Jewel of Inestimable Value”.
That marriage produced Moyin, Akin and Tunde. In August 1995, death struck, taking away Mama Dorcas Ogunsanmi.
Years after, he married former Miss Josephine Inumidun Solomon who is the surviving wife with two children, Damilola and Esther.
